Help police solve home invasion

By Chesterfield | Oct 09, 2013
A home-invasion robbery is being highlighted as this week’s unsolved crime in Chesterfield, and the Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers program is offering youts resources if you can help.

Just before 5 a.m. on Monday, July 22, a family was asleep in their home on Harvette Drive in Chesterfield. The husband and wife were awakened by three black males who had come into their bedroom with masks on and guns drawn. One of the suspects demanded cash from the man, and then proceeded to search the house for more money. As they searched, the man escaped through a glass door and was able to contact police. The suspects were gone before police arrived. The man was injured during the incident, but his wife and 2-year-old daughter were not.

All three suspects were dark-complexioned black males wearing dark clothing, masks and gloves. Two of the robbers had handguns. Neighbors in the area said they saw a white van in the area just prior to the home invasion. Detectives believe the house was specifically targeted by the robbers, and that it was not a random act. . .
