FELTON — Delaware State Police detectives are currently investigating a Felton home invasion that occurred in the early morning hours on Saturday and are seeking the public’s help.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:55 a.m. Saturday morning, as two subjects entered the residence located in the unit block of Pin Oak Court in Canterbury Mobile Home Park.

Upon entering, one of the suspects confronted a 20-year-old female victim who was asleep on the couch and covered her mouth in an attempt to keep her from screaming, while the other suspect approached and struck her once in the head with an unknown type handgun.

The noise from the struggle alerted the other two females that were sleeping in their bedrooms. The 22 and 23-year old females came to the living room where the two suspects forced them to the ground and demanded their money.

Unable to produce any cash, the suspects took one of the female’s phones and then fled the residence in an unknown direction.

“None of the victims were injured in this incident,” said Public Information Officer Master Corporal Gary E. Fournier.

A comprehensive investigation ensued and it was determined through interviews that one of the suspects was identified as Delonzo L. Powell.

The other suspect is described as a black male, 20-26 years of age, 5’06”-5’08” tall, wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, a black mask, and red and white sneakers (no further physical or clothing description). The suspect is possibly armed with an unknown type handgun.

Detectives obtained a warrant for Mr. Powell’s arrest, but have been unable to locate him at this time. Mr. Powell is also wanted by Smyrna Police Department from a robbery that was committed in December of 2011.

Detectives are asking anyone who may have any information as to the whereabouts of Delonzo L. Powell or information on the second suspect to contact Det. D. Coleman at 302-741-2813 or by utilizing the Delaware State Police Mobile Crime Tip Application available to download at: Information may also be provided by calling Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333, via the internet, or by sending an anonymous tip by text to 274637 (CRIMES) using the keyword “DSP.”
