Four Insurgents Arrested

We are learning new information about the suspects in a St. Joseph County home invasion that happened Monday afternoon.

Dion Goodwin, 19, Dandre Goodwin, 22, Robert Goodwin, 19, and Davon Henderson, 23, all of Elkhart, were all apprehended after a chase that lasted for hours.

It began with the home invasion attempt in the 22500 block of Kern Rd. just after noon. The home owner was in the shower when they heard the doorbell.

When they came downstairs, they found that someone had tried to break into the home and subsequently called police.

An officer started to follow the suspects on Locust Rd. The suspects then ditched their car and ran off. Police scoured the area with the help of K-9 units.

After a few hours, the four individuals were taken into custody and were questioned.

All the Goodwins were apprehended at the Prairie Street Apartment Complex in South Bend, but Henderson was apprehended on the AM General Property on the south side of South Bend near Chippewa and Gertrude.

Moreno Valley police officers responded to an attempted break in by four men at 9:27 p.m. on Oct. 1 at an elderly woman’s residence in the 22000 block of Scotia Lane in Moreno Valley, a Sheriff’s official reported.

Police arrested Stevie Crumb, 22, Lavonte Crumb, 20, Marian Parker, 20, and Alfonzo Butler, 21, for attempted home invasion robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime, according to a Riverside County Sheriff’s report.

The 70-year-old woman informed police that the four men broke into her house with only one wielding a handgun. She attempted to scare the men off by telling them the police were on their way but they persisted while pointing the gun at her. Moreno Valley police officers arrived at this time and the invaders fled from the residence, according to Sgt. Aaron Kent.
