Police Say Man Killed in Home Invasion Wasn’t Targeted Updated: Monday, November 18 2013, 03:09 PM EST SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) — Police work to find clues after a college student is found dead at the scene of a home invasion robbery in Springfield Township. Police say men pretending to be SWAT officers, broke in the front and back doors at his home on Tassie Lane and demanded money and drugs. They say 19-year-old Vince Turnage was in the basement asleep, and tried to run out the door. That’s when he was shot and killed. Police say the home invasion was drug related, but that the 19-year-old was not the target. Turnage was a Mt. Healthy graduate and was on the track and field roster at the University of Akron. Police have not released any suspect information.

Your right. This situation would be difficult for a trained individual to handle much less someone like a college student. I would suggest to place an extra double length dead bolt on the back door or a boiling pot of oil! I like the latter for surprise and the ability to mark the insurgent for later identification! 🙂
