A violent home invasion robbery late Tuesday night in northeast Fresno ended with two suspects in jail.

Four men with bandannas covering their faces — three armed with guns — forced their way into an apartment on Ninth Street just south of Shaw Avenue about 11:10 p.m. and hit a woman on the head with the butt of a gun, said Sgt. Jaime Rios, spokesman for the Fresno Police Department.

Among the items stolen was a cell phone, which deputies used to track the suspects to a neighborhood near Jensen and Clovis avenues in southeast Fresno, where a short car chase began, Rios said.

Police forced the vehicle off the road, Rios said. Two men inside — Devern Clark, 25, and Stevie Jones, 19 — were taken into custody and booked into Fresno County Jail. The other two men ran and have not been found.

The woman was treated for her undisclosed injuries. Police recovered the stolen items, plus several weapons apparently belonging to the suspects.
