Residents nab home-invasion suspect, hold him until police arrive

Victims of a home invasion in Ypsilanti Saturday caught a suspect in their residence and held him down until police arrived. The incident is one of three home invasions reported Saturday, police said in a crime summary. In one of the other incidents, the victim chased the invader from his home, police said.

The home invasion in which the victims caught the suspect was in the 600 block of Emmet Street and was reported about 4:30 a.m. The suspect was still being held by the victims when officers arrived on the scene.

In another incident, an unknown white male entered a victim’s house in the 100 block of North Huron Street. The victim chased the suspect out of the home. The Ypsilanti Police Department received a call reporting the incident at 2 a.m. Officers were unable to locate the suspect. Police said the investigation is ongoing. . .
